Users of Internet Explorer should expect a special securityupdate sometime within the next 24 hours.
Microsoft is issuing some special patches outside of thenormal Patch Tuesday updates, to fix a raft of software issues. At least one ofthe problems would allow remote control of a user’s computer.
Microsoft advises this security update is rated Critical forall supported releases of Internet Explorer: Internet Explorer 5.01, InternetExplorer 6 Service Pack 1, Internet Explorer 6 on Windows clients, InternetExplorer 7, and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows clients. For Internet Explorer 6on Windows servers, this update is rated Important. And for Internet Explorer 8on Windows servers, this update is rated Moderate.
