Arrow Electronics unveils expansive cloud backup service with IBM
Fri, 12th Apr 2024

Arrow Electronics has revealed a considerable expansion of its managed service offering with the new stand-out product, Arrow Cloud Object Storage for Backup. As an essential solution which boasts unlimited capacity, businesses can now efficiently backup large volumes of their digital data with greater ease.

The new service is built on the reliable, well-established IBM Cloud, formulated to accommodate the increasing demand for data protection within digitally operating businesses. The Arrow Cloud Object Storage for Backup is available only to Arrow channel partners throughout EMEA via the ArrowSphere Cloud, solidifying Arrow's firm footing in the regional technological market.

Collaborating with IBM Cloud and international cloud SaaS provider, Anycloud, Arrow Electronics has conceived a scalable solution. This service not only allows businesses to adjust their storage requirements as their needs change, but it also boasts the ability to meet the fluctuating demands of data backup. This is supported by rigorous encryption and data protection measures, ensuring data is securely housed within IBM datacentres.

With an emphasis on simplicity and efficiency, users can expect a straightforward management portal which streamlines processes and a fixed price per TB pricing model. The latter serves to reassure customers that they will only pay for their storage consumption with no setup fees or hidden costs.

"Businesses are managing increasing quantities of data and are often struggling with complex storage and backup solutions," said Mark Barcham, head of services sales and go-to-market for Arrow's enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA. "Arrow Cloud Object Storage for Backup harnesses the power and security of IBM Cloud and delivers it in a user-friendly web portal with a transparent, fixed price model. This new service will empower our channel partners and their customers to focus on what matters - achieving their goals."

The native object storage solution, designed to support any type of backup software or SaaS with a Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) configuration, offers yet another level of reassurance: data replication across multiple devices and IBM data centres ensures durability and unmatched security.

Lars Kristensen, IBM cloud leader Northern and Eastern Europe, commended the long-standing collaboration. "Together, we will introduce a pioneering market solution for the EMEA region, with plans for global expansion. With high expectations, we look forward to revolutionising data storage and backup solutions, empowering businesses worldwide."

Reiterating this sentiment was Gregor Frimodt-Muller, Anycloud group CEO: "This milestone would not have been possible without our valued relationship with IBM and together with Arrow's extensive trust and market reach. We are now empowering businesses with a robust, scalable, and reliable object storage solution based on a simple price model."

For Arrow Electronics, this denotes yet another step forward in their quest to guide innovation for technology manufacturers and service providers. As a company known for developing solutions that help improve businesses and everyday life, this new product is undoubtedly set to contribute to this success.
