CCL has further cemented its reputation with chief technology officer Jon Waite winning VMware’s coveted vExpert status.

The vExpert title is reserved ‘for individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions to the VMware community and a willingness to share their expertise with others’.

Waite, who is an enterprise architect with more than 23 years’ experience, says he’s honoured to be recognised with the status.

“Virtualisation is a bit of a passion for me, over the years it has revolutionised how modern data centres operate, changing how we consumer modern computing,” Waite says.

“I’m fortunate that CCL have invested ahead of the curve in virtualisation capability and data centre infrastructure, building a culture of delivering innovation and results.

“This has given me the freedom to ensure that we are always making use of the latest virtualisation technology and enhancements that deliver the best possible results for our customers.”

Waite says he’s humbled to be singled out given CCL’s ‘amazing team with some of the best technical minds I’ve ever worked with’.

Andrew Allan, CCL chief executive, says the whole CCL team are ‘really proud of Jon’.

“Jon is one of the most talented and passionate engineers I’ve met in the industry, not just in New Zealand, but globally.

“He’s an asset not just to CCL and our clients, but also to the broader IT community; it’s great to see him receive this recognition for his passion and hard work.”

The award comes ahead of next week’s VMworld conference.
