07 Oct 2010

HP has unveiled new converged infrastructure solutions in networking, security and scalable computing that it says enhance the delivery of application services to business.

The new solutions are based on ‘HP Converged Infrastructure’, which offers integrated servers, storage, networking and software.

HP describes the new solutions as:

HP Advances Service Provider BusinessThe new HP ProLiant SL6500 Scalable System offers the latest line of HP ProLiant servers and enables service providers to scale, speed and simplify the delivery of applications in order to gain a competitive business advantage. It also details the world’s first assembly line for rapid deployment of the HP Performance Optimised Datacentre (POD). HP Strengthens Enterprise Security Solution with Service for Controlling Access to ApplicationsDetails on HP’s Application Digital Vaccine Service (AppDV), which adds application control functionality to its existing industry-leading security offerings. AppDV, from HP TippingPoint DVLabs, enables clients to keep business systems available and running at peak performance by limiting non-critical network traffic and decreasing the risk of downtime from security threats.   HP Streamlines Application Delivery from the Data Centre to the Branch OfficeHP’s Branch Office Networking Solution simplifies application delivery by integrating network connectivity and applications, providing users with headquarters-quality access to remote business applications hosted in a centralised data centre. HP Services Enable a Common Network Vision to Speed Application DeliveryNew HP Network Consulting services that deliver reduced network complexity while speeding application service delivery within the enterprise.

“Enterprises are realising that applications are only as good as the infrastructure that powers them,” said Kevin Rooney, Director, Enterprise Storage, Servers and Networking, HP South Pacific. “HP Converged Infrastructure delivers significant advantages in deployment speed, performance, reliability and management of applications that provide organisations quantifiable results over traditional environments.”

The new solutions are available now through HP or its authorised channel partners. HP is also working with its partners to become OEMs of HP technology.
