Intermedia sets up shop in Australia with new Sydney data centre

12 May 2016

Intermedia is continuing its expansion into the Australian and New Zealand market with the announcement that it is opening a local data centre in Sydney, featuring Microsoft Exchange 2016, Skype for business and other critical services.

In addition to this, Intermedia has joined forces with leading Australian cloud distributor, Manage Protect, which will see the distie manage and support Intermedia’s growing ANZ partner base.

According to Intermedia, key benefits of this partnership include:

  • Australian-based 24/7 support for ANZ resellers - including pre-sales, migration assistance, technical and billing support, and partner management services
  • Local currency invoicing with no conversion fees
  • Decreased pricing across many core Exchange services
  • Locally hosted services including Exchange 2016 for new customer accounts

Bob Leibohlz, Intermedia VP of business development, says,  "Keeping true to our 'Worry-Free Experience' commitment, it made perfect sense to partner with a leader like Manage Protect. This partnership and the growth of our data centre network serve as testament to our confidence in the Australian market. With 12 data centres worldwide and over a million paid users, Intermedia is well-positioned to continue expanding our global reach while delivering premium localised support to our valued partners."

According to Gartner, the public cloud services market in Australia is expected to be worth $4.74 billion by the end of 2016. Intermedia's new data centre will help Australian partners better benefit from this market expansion. In addition to dedicated, locally-based support, partners will get access to additional cloud services through Manage Protect for greater upsell opportunities.

Andrew Johnson, Manage Protect CEO, says, "Intermedia is a global leader in delivering business-grade cloud email services, with an established partner programme and tightly integrated suite of business solutions.

"Intermedia and Manage Protect share a common goal and commitment to deliver best-of-breed cloud technology to Managed Service Providers and resellers across Australia and New Zealand. We look forward to the opportunity to serve and grow Intermedia's local partner base."
