Ivanti completes tenth acquisition in five years - RES Software
Fri, 7th Jul 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ivanti has acquired RES Software, a digital workplace software company.

The acquisition is Ivanti's tenth in five years, and the second under their new brand name.

In January 2017, when Landesk and Heat Software combined, Ivanti decided a new name was needed.

Over the years, both Landesk and Heat Software have evolved and changed, with Landesk acquiring a number of companies including Wavelink, Shavlik, Xtraction Solutions and AppSense.

Heat Software, a CSM and UEM solutions provider, was established as a result of FrontRange merging with Lumension. The parent company needed a new identity to encompass all of these new brands - and so Ivanti was born.

RES Software specialises in improving the consumption of IT services through secure, automated workspaces and identity provisioning.

The company's flagship offering addresses user environment management and identity governance across physical, virtual, and cloud environments via its converged platform.

"We're excited to further expand Ivanti's extensive product portfolio and continue to broaden our team globally with RES Software," comments Steve Daly, CEO of Ivanti.

"Ivanti welcomes RES Software and its employees to the Ivanti family and we look forward to helping RES Software's customers and partners further leverage their technology investments within the Ivanti platform."

With a significant presence in Europe, particularly in the Benelux region, the acquisition expands Ivanti's customer base and will also help Ivanti extend its existing automation capabilities to a larger pool of applications, platforms and databases.

"RES Software has been dedicated to delivering products we know our customers will love, helping to simplify the complex IT tasks associated with modern digital workspaces," says Bob Janssen, founder and CTO of RES Software.

"We are excited to share what we've built with a broader, global audience, and to help more CIOs with their digital transformation.

“Our existing customers will greatly benefit from this combination, and together with Ivanti, we have a more comprehensive solution to help organizations solve the growing problem of IT complexity."

The terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.
