New systems engineering director to support Nimble channel

26 Apr 2016

Nimble Storage channel partners now have the support of a new systems engineering director with Derek Cowan taking up the ANZ role.

Cowan, who was previously VMware Australia’s systems engineering manager for ANZ Southern region, is responsible for supporting Nimble Storage’s channel partners and customers with pre-sales and post sales.

He is also responsible for enabling organisations to fully leverage the potential of their Nimble Storage solutions by providing regional architecture and solution support services.

Bede Hackney, Nimble Storage ANZ managing director, says the appointment further reinforces the flash storage solutions vendor’s focus on regional organisational growth to enhance its position as a leader in all flash storage array technology solutions.

“At the same time, his appointment reflects our strategy to add specific domain experts and industry technology leaders to ensure that we are anticipating every technology advantage that we can bring to bear on the problem of storage infrastructure,” Hackney says.

Cowan has 20 years experience in technical support engineering and systems engineering management role, including five years at VMware, and stints at IBM and EMC.
