The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust has awarded a data centre maintenance contract to Secure I.T. Environments over the next three years.

Secure I.T. Environments – a designer and builder of modular data centres, containerised data centres, and refurbishment of existing data centres – will be charged with taking care of the data centre at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Trust.

The hospital is an established 488 bed general medical facility, which together with 12 cots in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers healthcare services West and North Norfolk in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.

Under the contract, Secure I.T. Environments will provide a range of maintenance services with the objective of ensuring the efficiency and resilience of the data centre across its expected lifespan, including the following particular assets:

  • External modular data centre
  • Air conditioning including consumables and external condensing units
  • Fire suppression system and VESDA system
  • Uninterruptible power supply systems
  • Environmental monitoring system

Secure I.T. Environments projects director Chris Wellfair says the company is rapt with the contract win.

“Regular and quality maintenance of any data centre is critical to ensuring it performs at its best and your investment realises its full value,” says Wellfair.

“We are pleased to have won this contract with the Queen Elizabeth NHS Trust to maintain its critical IT infrastructure.”
